The
specialized course given by Guy Postiaux teaches the PT to:
|
1
° Auscultate,
meaning gather objective stethacoustic parameters |
|
The
set up of a strategy in chest physiotherapy and
the choice of a technique depends on the appreciation
of various clinical signs, under which auscultation
is the principal tool. And yet the
majority of schools and universities don't provide
sufficient teaching in auscultation. We
demonstrate here that a precise auscultation, based on
an objective nomenclature helps the choice making of a
technique and the evaluation of an accomplished task. |

|
| 2
°
Properly pose the indications and counter-indications
of a physical
treatment
|
Let
us insist on the fact that it is not the purpose of the PT
to pose a diagnosis, but rather to identify a precise physioacoustic
signal that can orient the
specific therapeutic choice and to control its
effects. This reasoning does not accept PT based on
recipes. The richness of this nVPT lies in its semiologic
basement : the specific physiotherapic assessment of the
bronchopulmonary obstruction, rather than the
nosological one.
The
individual, specific type of each disease escapes any
systematization.
From
new therapeutic concept, new techniques are
proposed. They present the major advantages of a more
distal or peripheral action in the bronchial tree and also
to be better tolerated than conventional techniques.

Acquire
the basements for a specialisation in pediatric CPT |
It can't be denied that teaching of pediatric
CPT remains quite empirical, and often even absent from
schedules in schools and universities. This, despite the
increasing demand from praticians, as CPT is the main component of
the treatment of the infant bronchiolitis. These reasons can
explain the need for a rigorous therapeutic methodology and their
curiosity towards pneumo-pediatric medical sciences that they
did'nt study in high schools and universities.
Our ambition would be the recognition of what is
already considered as a specialisation of PT: CPT of the infant
and the child.
An update in nebulized therapy in
accordance with the State of The Art of this topic, specially in
asthma.

Theory
and training of new CPT maneuvers.
Teaching
rests on many audio-visual means and techniques: hearing of
audio cassette and CD of pulmonary sounds, video cassettes
illustrating the CPT techniques, slides.
The
course includes theoretical and pratical
parts. Work is
interactive, the participants learn the respiratory sounds
and the CPT maneuvers under the
direction of the instructor. The number of participants is
limited to a maximum of 20 in order to ensure an effective
individual monitoring.
The
formation is one duration 20
hours divided
into two days and half.
